IPOB announces boycott of APC and alleges judicial obstruction
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), through its Directorate of State, has announced an immediate boycott of all activities associated with the All Progressives Congress (APC). The movement stated that its primary objectives remain the unconditional release of leader Nnamdi Kanu and the restoration of Biafra.
IPOB officials have accused the APC-led Federal Government of undermining the judicial process to prolong Kanu’s detention. Specific allegations include the disappearance of a court file regarding a fundamental rights suit and the failure of the Court of Appeal to list Kanu’s appeal challenging his conviction.
Legal practitioner Onyedikachi Ifedi has also raised concerns regarding the legality of Kanu’s trial. Ifedi alleged jurisdictional defects in the proceedings led by Justice James Omotosho and accused the government of double standards by comparing the handling of Kanu’s case to the extradition proceedings of former Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari.
