Ipoh break-in ends with suspect's sudden heart‑related death

At about 5 a.m. on July 28, two suspects forced entry through a window of a house on Jalan Building Society in Taman Star, Ipoh, Perak. A confrontation with the homeowner ensued. One suspect fled the scene, while the other, a 40‑year‑old local man, was found unconscious inside the residence and later pronounced dead.

A post‑mortem examination determined the death was caused by a blocked coronary artery, not by injuries from the altercation. Police classified the incident as a Sudden Death Report and are investigating under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house‑breaking and Section 324 for causing hurt. Perak Police Chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said the investigation continues to locate the escaped suspect and appealed for public assistance.
