IPS audit reveals land irregularities in Chaco
An audit of the Instituto de Previsión Social (IPS) has revealed irregularities regarding the institution's lands and ranches in the Chaco region. Former IPS president and current Health Minister Isaías Fretes reported that a large-scale territorial survey covering 54,000 km² was conducted with the assistance of military personnel, topographers, and drones from the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development. Fretes described the findings as “irregularities resulting from negligence” and urged the new IPS president, Derlis León, to personally address the situation.
In a separate matter regarding institutional management, the new IPS president, Derlis León, addressed the procurement of essential medicines. He stated that 90% of the necessary medication guides have already been contracted. León noted that while the procurement process can take up to 10 months, the administration is implementing a control board to monitor stock levels and prevent shortages. He emphasized the importance of predictability to ensure that vital and essential medicines are available to insured citizens.
