IPS expands Universal Guaranteed Pension access to seniors aged 75+

The Instituto de Previsión Social (IPS) has announced that individuals aged 75 and older who receive special pensions—specifically those under Reparation Laws, Grace Laws, or those exonerated from Dipreca and Capredena—can now apply for the Universal Guaranteed Pension (PGU).

This expansion follows the Pension Reform, allowing this demographic to access the benefit starting in September. Eligible applicants can submit requests through official channels, including the ChileAtiende website using a ClaveÚnica, via virtual assistance, or in person at ChileAtiende branches. The final granting of the benefit is subject to current legal requirements, with a maximum amount of $250,275.
