IPS launches mandatory national census for retirees
The Instituto de Previsión Social (IPS) has launched a mandatory and free National Census for all retirees and pensioners. The initiative aims to gather precise data on the location of insured individuals to improve direct communication and assist the Health Management department in delivering preventive medicine programs.
Américo Riquelme, Director of Retirements at IPS, stated that the digital platform was developed in-house to avoid additional costs. The census can be completed via the official IPS website using mobile devices, tablets, or computers. To assist those unfamiliar with digital tools or those requiring in-person help, IPS has established approximately 80 service points across the country, including retirement offices and health centers.
The census also seeks to identify beneficiaries with physical limitations or those requiring caregivers to provide better family support. The deadline for completion is December 7. IPS President Dr. Isaías Fretes has called upon both citizens and the business sector to encourage compliance within the established timeframe.
