IPS launches mango bio-leather training for entrepreneurs

The Instituto de Pensiones Sociales (IPS) has launched a three-month training program for entrepreneurs focused on producing goods from mango bio-leather. The course aims to provide sustainable alternatives for creating handicrafts, footwear, and clothing to help participants generate income amidst the national economic crisis.

Located at the Casa de la Solidaridad in the Eva Perón neighborhood, the sessions are held virtually every Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, utilizing a screen and projector at the facility. The instructor, Verónica Alegre, is based in Asunción, Paraguay. The program begins with theoretical lessons, after which participants will be provided with the necessary materials for practical application.

Mango bio-leather is an innovative, sustainable biomaterial manufactured from the dehydrated and processed residues, pulp, or peels of the mango fruit. It serves as an ecological alternative to both animal and synthetic leathers.
