Ipsen completes acquisition of Kartos Therapeutics

Ipsen has completed its acquisition of Kartos Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. The deal is intended to strengthen Ipsen’s oncology pipeline by adding the late-stage MDM2 inhibitor, navtemadlin.

Navtemadlin is currently in Phase III clinical development through the POIESIS study. It is being investigated as an add-on therapy for patients with myelofibrosis who have shown a suboptimal response to the standard first-line treatment, ruxolitinib. Early clinical data suggest the drug may improve clinical outcomes and potentially provide disease-modifying benefits for intermediate- and high-risk TP53wt patients.
