Ipswich Town makes official bid for midfielder Exequiel Palacios

Newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town has made an official bid for Argentinian midfielder Exequiel Palacios. The move comes as the club undergoes a significant shift in recruitment strategy under new manager Gary O’Neil.

Following the departure of Kieran McKenna, who oversaw three promotions in four seasons, O’Neil has overseen a major overhaul of the squad. The club has spent approximately £106.6 million on ten new players, including Chuba Akpom, Emersonn, Abdul Fatawu, and Florentino Luis.

This summer marks a departure from the club’s previous model, which focused heavily on players from the UK and Republic of Ireland to ensure familiarity with English football. The new approach is more international, featuring players from Brazil, Serbia, and Japan. Palacios remains a key target, though he faces competition from four other clubs in the Premier League and Bundesliga.
