Ipswich and Crystal Palace complete major football transfers
Several notable football transfers have been finalized in the recent market window. Ipswich Town has secured Dutch forward Zian Flemming from Burnley in a deal worth approximately £20 million. Flemming, who scored 11 goals in the Premier League last season, has signed a contract lasting until June 2031 to return to the top flight.
In England, Crystal Palace has strengthened its squad with the permanent signings of Ben Chilwell and midfielder Quinten Timber. Timber joins from Olympique de Marseille on a five-year deal in a transaction reported to be worth around €20 million. The move follows a period of financial restructuring for the French club.
Olympique de Marseille is currently undergoing significant financial adjustments to comply with regulatory requirements. While the club has generated approximately €75 million through player sales including Timber, Greenwood, and Balerdi, reports suggest they may need to sell an additional €75 million in assets by June 2027 to meet financial targets.
