Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest draw 1-1 in Premier League clash
Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest played to a 1-1 draw at Portman Road during an eighth-round Premier League fixture. Neco Williams opened the scoring for Forest in the 13th minute, finishing a volley following a cross from Daniel Munoz.
Ipswich equalized in the 41st minute when Julio Enciso capitalized on a defensive error by Nikola Milenkovic, who failed to properly clear a ball back to goalkeeper Matz Sels. Despite Forest dominating much of the match with 17 shots and an expected goals (xG) of 2.31 compared to Ipswich's 0.46, they were unable to secure a victory.
The match was marked by controversy in the 48th minute when Ipswich defender Issa Diop fouled James McAtee. After a VAR review, referee Thomas Bramall issued a yellow card instead of a red, a decision Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner described as “wrong.” Ipswich defender Leif Davis was noted for his performance, including two crucial goal-line clearances.
