iQFOiL U23 World Championships begin in Poland

iQFOiL U23 World Championships sailing Bay of Puck windsurfing

The 2026 iQFOiL U23 World Championships commenced on the Bay of Puck in Poland, featuring 148 sailors representing 34 nations. Ideal wind conditions of 15–18 knots allowed for the completion of four course races for all fleets on the opening day.

In the Men’s fleet, Federico Alan Pilloni of Italy established a provisional overall lead. Côme Joly of France secured two race wins, while Leonardo Tomasini of Italy rounded out the provisional top three.

In the Women’s fleet, Aimee Bright of New Zealand took the lead after the first four races. She is followed by a Norwegian contingent, with Maya Gysler in second place and Tuva Oppedal in third.
