iQFOiL World Championships begin in Weymouth

The iQFOiL World Championships are set to begin in Weymouth, United Kingdom, featuring approximately 184 to 186 windsurfers representing 41 nations. The competition will take place over six days of high-speed racing.

Spain is represented by an eleven-person contingent led by Pilar Lamadrid and Nacho Baltasar. Lamadrid, who recently secured a bronze medal at the European Championships, will be joined by pre-Olympic athlete Andrea Torres and several under-23 competitors. Baltasar, a former Olympic participant, leads a group of five Spanish sailors.

Australia’s team features a blend of veteran and emerging talent. Paris 2024 silver medallist Grae Morris headlines the Australian squad, aiming to leverage data from the 2012 Olympic venue to improve his performance. He is joined by rising star and 2025 U19 World Champion Rory Meehan.
