iQOO 16 and Redmi Note 17 smartphones announced with ray tracing, 8K recording and global variants

At the Snapdragon Game Technology Showcase 2026, iQOO unveiled its flagship iQOO 16, featuring a new Visual Triple-Core hardware architecture developed with Qualcomm. The phone will support full‑scene ray tracing in mobile games, an 8K game‑recording camera module, and a stable‑frame streaming technology. iQOO and Qualcomm also introduced a Game Ready Driver to deliver faster game‑specific optimisations.

Xiaomi's Redmi brand revealed the global Redmi Note 17 series. The base model carries a 6.99‑inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh, 1800‑nit brightness, a 50 MP rear camera and a 7700 mAh battery (down from 8000 mAh in the Chinese version). It will be offered in 5G and non‑5G variants powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 or Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipsets, with RAM options of 4‑8 GB and storage up to 256 GB. The Redmi Note 17 Pro adds a 6.83‑inch 1.5K AMOLED panel, IP‑rated protection, up to 8 GB RAM, 512 GB storage and a 50 MP main camera with an 8 MP ultra‑wide lens.
