iQOO and OnePlus prepare flagship smartphone launches

Major smartphone manufacturers iQOO and OnePlus are preparing to launch new flagship devices aimed at high-performance gaming and professional mobile use.

iQOO has unveiled its ‘3+2 gaming technology map’ for the upcoming iQOO 16 and iQOO Pad Ultra. The strategy focuses on three technical pillars—graphics, control, and tuning—alongside two expanded scenarios: cross-platform gaming and live streaming. Key technical advancements include the self-developed Q4 gaming chip, which supports ray tracing, super-resolution, and high frame rates. The company also introduced Q-flex control technology to reduce touch latency and a PC game simulator to allow mobile play of Steam titles.

Simultaneously, OnePlus has begun promoting its OnePlus 16, expected to launch in October. The device is reported to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor, a 165Hz BOE X4 OLED display, and a massive 9000mAh battery. The OnePlus 16 will include a customizable AI key and a high-end camera system headlined by a 200MP main sensor. The device is positioned as a direct competitor to the iQOO 16, which is scheduled for release in China on September 29.
