Regional reports cover fatal accidents, police operations, and storm damage
In the Dominican Republic, the National Police reported that eight suspects were killed in recent confrontations with officers. These incidents, which include deaths during operations in Boca Chica, have contributed to a total of 173 fatalities in 2026 so far.
In Argentina, the Observatorio de Datos Estratégicos (ODE) reported that 63 people died in traffic accidents in the province of Buenos Aires during July, a 28% increase from June. The highest number of fatalities occurred in La Plata and Luján.
In Paraguay, a severe storm in the Belén district caused damage to homes, crops, and roads in the San Isidro Requejo community due to heavy rain, hail, and strong winds.
