Iquique Terminal Internacional to host community open house

Iquique Terminal Internacional (ITI) will host the “Puertas Abiertas ITI 2026” event on Saturday, October 24, from 15:00 to 19:00. This free community event allows residents to tour the terminal and observe the operation of cranes, container ships, and other port equipment.

The event will feature a fair with participation from various institutions, including the Seremi of the Environment, the Municipality of Iquique, INACAP, the University of Tarapacá, and the NGO Golondrina de Mar. A dedicated recycling station will be available for attendees to drop off cardboard, cans, bottles, and small electronic waste such as cables and phones.

General Manager Rodrigo Pommiez stated that opening the terminal reinforces the company’s commitment to maintaining a transparent relationship with the people of Tarapacá. The day will also include children's shows, origami workshops, games, and prizes.
