Iran accelerates missile production and military reorganization

Arab intelligence services have detected a strategic shift in Iran, suggesting the country is preparing for a larger regional conflict against the United States rather than pursuing peace. This reorganization involves strengthening the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which has assumed greater control over regular military forces, and placing hardline veterans in strategic positions to accelerate the production of missiles and drones.

Reports indicate that Iran is rebuilding its ballistic missile arsenal much faster than Israeli intelligence had anticipated. Following a campaign of US and Israeli airstrikes in early 2026 that targeted over 2,600 industrial and military sites, Tehran has developed efficient production routes to resume manufacturing long-range missiles. Military assessments suggest Iran could possess between 500 and 1,000 missiles capable of reaching Israeli territory, with the potential to restore its pre-attack stockpiles by early 2027.

The escalation has also impacted US strategic readiness. The prolonged military operations have substantially reduced Washington’s stocks of high-precision munitions. US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth noted that replenishing these American stockpiles could take months or years, potentially limiting US operational capacity in other global scenarios.
