Iran achieves 90% domestic production of weapons and ammunition
Iran's Ministry of Defense announced that the country now produces 90% of its weapons and ammunition domestically. Spokesperson Reza Talaei-Nik stated that Iran produces over one thousand types of weapons, equipment, and ammunition internally, marking a significant shift from the pre-Revolution era when 90% of military hardware relied on foreign production.
Talaei-Nik also noted that the production of weapons and defense equipment has doubled over the past year. This development comes amid ongoing regional tensions. While a memorandum of understanding was signed between Tehran and Washington in mid-June to end military hostilities, direct strikes between the US, Israel, and Iran have occurred periodically since February. Although active combat is not currently underway, the United States continues to apply economic pressure on Iran.
