Iran adopts new economic arrangement to counter US sanctions

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that Tehran has adopted a new arrangement to manage special economic conditions following intensified US sanctions. Pezeshkian asserted that government measures and public support have prevented adversaries from achieving their objectives in what he termed an “economic war.”

The US Department of the Treasury is conducting “Operation Economic Outcast,” a campaign designed to sever the economic lifelines of the Iranian regime and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). On October 1, the US expanded sanctions to include Iran’s automotive, rail, manufacturing, and steel sectors. Amidst these pressures, reports indicate a US naval blockade has impacted Iranian crude exports through the Strait of Hormuz.

Diplomatic efforts remain ongoing. Iran is currently reviewing US feedback regarding a seven-day proposal to cease hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has predicted the conflict will end quickly, claiming Iran faces 301 percent inflation and severe military degradation, which he suggests will lead to a significant drop in global oil prices.
