Iran advances National Housing Movement in Kurdistan and Kermanshah
Officials in Iran are advancing housing initiatives through the National Housing Movement to address the needs of low-income households and stimulate regional economies.
In Kurdistan, the Director General of Roads and Urban Development, Amir Ghaderi, identified the National Housing Movement as a primary driver for economic growth. He emphasized that the project aims to activate the construction supply chain, thereby promoting production and employment. Ghaderi stressed the importance of adhering to construction schedules to avoid rising material costs and noted that all projects must be delivered with essential infrastructure, including water, electricity, telephone, and gas services.
In Kermanshah, Ramin Almasi, the provincial Director General of Roads and Urban Development, announced plans to implement rental housing schemes targeting households in deciles 1 through 6. The strategy involves utilizing legal capacities and partnership models to build new units and increase the provincial rental housing reserve for the coming year. Currently, 250 booklets have been issued to applicants for housing assignments, with a portion of the transfer process expected to be completed by the end of the year.
