Iran detains two French diplomats amid infiltration allegations
Iran’s Intelligence Ministry has accused France of involvement in a foreign infiltration project following the detention of two French diplomats. The diplomats were reportedly discovered by intelligence agents at a secret meeting location while authorities were executing a judicial order to arrest two other suspects.
According to the ministry, a preliminary review of documents and materials seized at the scene indicates a large-scale project designed to establish covert networks, facilitate foreign interference, and undermine Iranian independence. The ministry further claimed that some of the recovered documents bear the signature of a former French ambassador to Iran.
Following identity verification, the two diplomats were handed over to the French ambassador in Tehran in the presence of diplomatic police. The Iranian Intelligence Ministry warned the French government that it would be held accountable for the actions of its personnel and stated that any future unlawful or interventionist activities by foreign diplomats would face a response from Iranian authorities.
