Iran and 12 nations walk out of SCO summit in protest

During the seventh summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Baku, Azerbaijan, a delegation from Iran and 12 other nations walked out of the assembly hall in protest of a speech delivered by the Israeli leader.

The participating delegations that left the hall included representatives from Palestine, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iraq, Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Bangladesh. This collective action, involving approximately half of the 28 participating delegations, served as a demonstration of opposition to Israel.

The Iranian delegation was led by Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Legal and International Affairs. The summit serves as a platform for Asian nations to discuss regional security and geopolitical issues.
