Iran announces $30,000 bounty for killing or capturing U.S. soldiers

Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Amir Hatami has announced a $30,000 bounty for any individual who kills or captures a U.S. soldier and hands them over to Iranian authorities. The reward will be doubled to $60,000 if the act is carried out by an Iranian woman.

Hatami stated the decision followed numerous requests from citizens wishing to support the ongoing conflict. Additionally, the Iranian military has pledged to purchase any weapons used in such operations at double their market value to be displayed in a museum.

The announcement comes amid heightened tensions following a conflict that began in late February. Since then, at least 17 American soldiers have been killed, primarily at bases in Jordan and Iraq. The situation remains volatile following the expiration of a memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran, and recent military strikes by U.S. Central Command against 80 Iranian targets in response to attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a related statement, Donald Trump asserted that Iran should be held responsible for damages and deaths in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Gaza.
