Iran announces Rabi' al-Thani to begin Sunday

The start of the Islamic month of Rabi' al-Thani 1448 has been announced for Sunday, September 13 (22 Shahrivar).

Following astronomical observations conducted on Friday evening, experts determined that the crescent moon was not visible in Iran. Consequently, the month of Rabi' al-Awwal is confirmed to be 30 days long.

Observational groups across various provinces, including Khorasan Razavi, Ilam, Sistan and Baluchestan, Tehran, and Fars, reported that the crescent could not be sighted despite using specialized equipment.
