Iran to hold extensive programs for 46th Sacred Defense Week

Iran is preparing for the 46th anniversary of Sacred Defense Week with extensive cultural, social, and military programs across various provinces. Under the slogan ‘Labbaik ya Khamenei’, the commemorations aim to honor martyrs and transfer the values of the Iran-Iraq War to younger generations.

In Kerman, officials announced over 4,000 programs, including the ‘Janfada’ military exercise involving 90,000 participants. In Qazvin, the military and local authorities have scheduled 46 distinct events, including school programs and visits to memorial sites. In Sanandaj, local leadership emphasized the importance of authentic storytelling regarding the war to ensure the human dimensions of the conflict are understood by youth.

Bahman Kargar, head of the Central Headquarters for Commemorating National Occasions of Sacred Defense and Resistance, confirmed that due to current wartime conditions, a formal military parade will not be held this year. He also noted that the Foundation has approved a new 20-year strategic document to guide the promotion of resistance culture following the successful completion of its previous 10-year plan.
