Iran Army announces $30,000 bounty for capturing or killing U.S. soldiers
Major General Amir Hatami, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, has announced a $30,000 reward for any individual who captures or kills a U.S. service member. According to the announcement, the reward amount will be doubled if the action is carried out by an Iranian woman.
Additionally, the military stated it would purchase any weapon used in such an act at twice its original price, providing a new weapon in exchange. Hatami noted that the measure responds to significant public demand to participate in financing the nation’s defense.
The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions following a period of conflict involving U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory. While there have been no recent large-scale U.S. ground deployments in Iran, military analysts suggest the bounty may signal Tehran’s preparation for potential ground warfare scenarios, where U.S. forces might attempt to seize limited territory for negotiation leverage.
