Iran arrests 11 supporters of People's Mojahedin Organization
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has identified 11 supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) who were arrested by Iranian security forces between April and July 2026.
The detainees include a diverse group of individuals, such as a PhD holder in art, a university student, and several parents. Among those named is Ghazal Sayyadi, a 38-year-old woman from Tehran. The NCRI has warned that the whereabouts and physical conditions of some of these individuals remain unknown, expressing concerns that they may be subjected to interrogation and torture.
The arrests come amid a period of intensified pressure by the Iranian clerical regime, characterized by mass arrests and a wave of executions targeting the PMOI and their families. In response, the Iranian resistance movement has called upon the United Nations, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the UN Special Rapporteur to demand information regarding the detainees' status and to seek access to the facilities where they are being held.
