Iran asserts regional security requires dialogue over foreign military presence
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that sustainable security in the Middle East is achieved through dialogue, trust-building, and mutual respect among regional nations, rather than through foreign military presence or coercion. Speaking at a conference regarding global transformation and justice, Araghchi argued that decades of external intervention and military pressure have failed to produce peace, instead making war and sanctions routine tools of international politics.
In related developments regarding negotiations with the United States, Mohsen Rezaee, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, indicated that Tehran has presented seven specific conditions to Washington to initiate talks. Additionally, Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf linked the status of the Strait of Hormuz to the fulfillment of Iranian rights and the implementation of American commitments, including the lifting of oil sanctions, the release of frozen assets, and the cessation of military threats.
