Iran claims U.S. loses $20 billion in aircraft and weaponry after recent strikes

Iranian officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said recent strikes have inflicted heavy losses on United States military assets in the region. IRGC spokesperson Colonel Hussein Mohibi reported the destruction of 28 U.S. aircraft within 15 days, including 11 fighters, a modern F‑15, a P‑8 Poseidon maritime patrol plane, a C‑17 Globemaster transport, eight aerial refueling tankers and 17 unmanned drones. The IRGC also claimed the elimination of four Patriot air‑defence batteries and several radar sites.

According to the IRGC, the combined value of the damaged or destroyed equipment amounts to roughly $20 billion, based on U.S. defense‑budget prices for systems such as Patriot batteries, F‑15 fighters, P‑8 aircraft and KC‑46 tankers. The United States has not confirmed the figures, and independent verification has not been provided.
