Iran commemorates the return of war veterans

Various Iranian officials and local authorities held ceremonies and home visits to commemorate the anniversary of the return of the ‘Azadegan’ (prisoners of war) to Iran. These events honored the resilience and sacrifice of veterans who endured captivity during the Iran-Iraq War.

In Qeshm County, the governor visited several veterans, describing them as valuable assets to the nation and emphasizing the importance of preserving their stories for future generations. In Tehran Province, the Director General of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs noted that the province serves 1,387 veterans, highlighting the responsibility of providing services to these individuals and their families.

In Kurdistan province, officials in Sarvabad and Baneh also conducted visits to honor veterans and the families of deceased martyrs. These ceremonies focused on the themes of patience, resistance, and the spiritual importance of those who maintained their dignity during years of captivity.
