Iran condemns new U.S. economic sanctions as state terrorism

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned new United States economic sanctions, labeling them as ‘state terrorism’ and a ‘crime against humanity.’ In a formal statement, Iran accused the U.S. government of using the dollar as a tool of intimidation to force nations to follow interventionist policies, which Tehran claims violates national sovereignty and the UN Charter.

The Ministry argued that these economic measures constitute a ‘total war’ and an attempt to deprive the Iranian people of basic rights, including access to food, medicine, and medical equipment. Iranian officials stated that participating in these sanctions is equivalent to assisting in illegal U.S. actions and urged other nations to refrain from compliance.

In related developments, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed readiness to cooperate with regional neighbors, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, noting that Iran has sold approximately 90 million barrels of oil during the implementation of transitional agreements. Meanwhile, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei emphasized the need for national unity and social cohesion, vowing to end reliance on the dollar to defeat external narratives.
