Iran conducts 135 strikes on Gulf infrastructure sites

An investigation by Reuters reveals that Iran and its allies have conducted at least 135 missile and drone attacks against 84 infrastructure sites across the Gulf since February 28. These precision strikes have targeted vital economic and logistical facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.

Key targets include the Fujairah port in the UAE, which serves as a major oil export route outside the Strait of Hormuz, and Qatar’s Ras Laffan liquefied natural gas facility, where cooling equipment was damaged. In Saudi Arabia, strikes hit airports and damaged or destroyed pumping stations along a critical oil pipeline used as a bypass for the Strait of Hormuz.

In a related analysis, experts from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) noted that the United States faces significant challenges in neutralizing Iran's military capabilities. They argued that Iran's missile and drone capacities are housed in fortified, underground facilities that are nearly impossible to destroy through air strikes alone. The ongoing conflict has disrupted regional security, impacted energy logistics, and influenced global oil prices.
