Iran considers strikes on US military targets in Europe

Iran is considering strikes against targets used by United States forces in Europe if the United States escalates violence in the Middle East, according to sources close to the Iranian administration reported by the Financial Times.

Potential targets reportedly include Bulgaria, which recently allowed its airbase to be used for refueling US equipment, and a British military base on Cyprus. Iran has also reportedly explored the possibility of attacking fiber optic cables located under the Strait of Hormuz. These potential expansions of conflict follow recent airstrikes by the US and Israel against Iran.

In a related development, the United Arab Emirates has suspended all trade and financial transactions with Iran, citing the regional security situation.
