Iran council election dates pending city readiness assessments
Mohammad Saleh Jokar, head of the Central Election Supervision Board, has announced that the final date for council elections will be determined once the Ministry of Interior identifies which cities are prepared to hold them.
The Supreme National Security Council has provided its opinion regarding the elections, leading to a joint meeting between the Supervision Board and the country's election headquarters. While some regions are ready, others cannot hold elections due to existing wartime conditions.
Jokar stated that the Ministry of Interior will report which cities are ready and which are not. Following this assessment, a final decision on the election date will be made. Elections in areas currently unable to meet the necessary conditions will be postponed until such requirements are fulfilled.
