Iran cyberattacks on Israel surge to 4,800 incidents in 2026

Israel’s National Cyber Directorate reported that hostile Iranian cyber incidents rose sharply after the U.S.-Israeli offensive against Tehran. In June 2025 the country logged around 1,600 attacks; by the same month in 2026 the figure jumped to roughly 4,800, almost tripling the prior count.

The campaigns targeted systems used by Israel’s critical infrastructure, public institutions, small‑ and medium‑sized firms and even law and accounting offices. Director General Yossi Karadi said that, so far, Israel has managed to fend off attacks on core infrastructure, though less protected organisations have suffered data wipes.

Iran continues to deny any role in the hacking efforts, while Israel stresses ongoing cooperation with the United States and allies such as Germany to bolster cyber defenses.
