Iran declares no peace with US and will not recognize Israel amid talks with Hamas
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakçi held separate meetings in Tehran with Hamas Council President Mohammed Dervish and a Hezbollah delegation led by senior official Muhammad Finayish. The Hamas team expressed condolences over the death of a senior leader and briefed Arakçi on conditions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, calling the international response a "catastrophe" and praising Iran’s historical support for Palestine. Arakçi reiterated Iran’s backing for the establishment of a Palestinian state and thanked the groups for their resistance.
In a related statement, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqir Ghalibaf met with Hamas leadership and declared that Iran has no peace with the United States and will not formally recognize Israel. He pledged political and missile support to the “Resistance Front” and framed retaliation for the slain imam as a fight for Jerusalem’s freedom. Together, the remarks underscore Iran’s hostile stance toward the US and Israel and its continued backing of Palestinian militant organisations.
