Iran demands accountability after U.S. strikes hit school and wedding

In Iran’s Hormozgan Province, the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab is being transformed into a memorial and war museum following a strike during the initial stages of the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. Iranian officials report that more than 100 students were killed in the attack, which occurred on February 28. An investigation found evidence suggesting at least one U.S. missile hit the school, though the Trump administration has not accepted responsibility or released Pentagon findings.

Iranian administration spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani has linked the school bombing to a recent U.S. strike on a wedding gathering at Kohestak Port in Sirik County. Mohajerani stated that both incidents demonstrate how civilians are being killed while engaged in daily life and demanded that Washington be held accountable for these violations of humanitarian law. The Sirik attack occurred following Iran’s decision to close the Strait of Hormuz on March 2, a move Tehran described as self-defense.

Local authorities, including Hormozgan Governor Mohammad Ashouri Taziani, have called for the preservation of the damaged school ruins as a historical record. Meanwhile, a section of the Minab cemetery has been dedicated to the victims, though residents report that some bodies have yet to be recovered.
