Iran denies claims of Chinese conditions on diplomatic relations

The Office of the Special Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in China has issued a statement denying claims that China has imposed specific conditions on the development of bilateral relations or on the potential visit of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf to Beijing.

The denial follows remarks by Hossein Marashi, Secretary-General of the Executives of Construction Party, who suggested that China required Iran to resolve issues with the United States and Saudi Arabia and to reopen the Strait of Hormuz without fees before proceeding with diplomatic visits.

The Iranian official's office characterized these claims as inaccurate, stating that China’s opposition to unilateral U.S. sanctions demonstrates its supportive stance toward Iran. The statement emphasized that relations between Iran and China are based on mutual respect and a comprehensive strategic partnership, with ongoing cooperation in political, economic, and investment sectors. The office urged media and political figures to avoid spreading unverified speculation that could impact national interests.
