Iran displays anti-US propaganda billboards in Tehran

New state-sponsored billboards in central Tehran have intensified Iran’s anti-US propaganda campaign. One prominent display depicts the skeleton of an American soldier in a combat vest lying on the rocky shore of the Strait of Hormuz, while an Iranian-flagged vessel sails through the strategic waterway.

Other recent displays in Tehran’s Revolution Square include imagery of a toppled Statue of Liberty being celebrated by crowds, as well as previous posters depicting former President Donald Trump in a coffin or being strangled. These visuals follow the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in his Tehran compound during joint US and Israeli strikes at the start of the conflict.

The tension comes as a fragile monthlong cease-fire between the US and Iran is set to expire on Monday, with no immediate agreement in sight to extend the truce. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of 18 US service members to date and has impacted the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passage for global oil transit.
