Iran Economic Coordination Headquarters addresses market volatility and budget management
The Iranian government's Economic Coordination Headquarters, attended by Masoud Pezeshkian, met to address economic management under special conditions. The meeting focused on the foreign exchange market, budget resources and expenditures, foreign trade, and the supply of essential goods.
During the session, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance reported on the government's financial status, noting the need for targeted resource use due to wartime conditions and fluctuations in oil and tax revenues. To manage current constraints, the Plan and Budget Organization proposed a seven-item package designed to strengthen economic policy coordination and create new capacities for a more orderly transition through upcoming limitations.
Discussions also addressed recent foreign exchange market volatility. Officials emphasized the necessity of aligning currency, trade, and financial policies, managing expectations, and ensuring a continuous supply of foreign currency for the real economy through proactive and cohesive decision-making.
