Iran Embassy condemns US “Operation of Economic Exclusion”

The Iranian Embassy in Rome has issued a formal condemnation of the United States' “Operation of Economic Exclusion.” According to a press release from the embassy, the U.S. administration initiated this new wave of measures on August 24, 2026.

The embassy characterized the move as “economic terrorism” and “state terrorism” by the United States against Iran and the international community. The statement argues that the instrumental use of the U.S. dollar to coerce other nations into complying with interventionist policies violates national sovereignty and the right to self-determination.

Furthermore, the embassy asserted that these unilateral sanctions constitute a clear violation of the UN Charter and international law. The declaration claims these economic actions jeopardize regional and international peace and security, warning that such patterns of illegality pose an unprecedented threat to human civilization.
