Iran evaluates U.S. response to seven-day diplomatic proposal

Iran is currently evaluating a response from the United States regarding a seven-day proposal previously presented by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in New York. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Garibabanpati confirmed that the American positions on the plan were transmitted via mediators and are undergoing internal institutional assessment in Tehran.

While Tehran intends to communicate its final position through appropriate diplomatic channels, officials noted that the country is also preparing for ‘other scenarios’ should negotiations fail to reach a resolution. This stance highlights a strategic effort to balance a willingness to negotiate with a refusal to appear weak under pressure.

The diplomatic process occurs amid heightened rhetoric from Donald Trump, who has demanded a ‘very fair’ agreement and warned of severe consequences for Iran if such terms are not met. Within the Iranian parliament, officials expressed varying degrees of skepticism, with some noting a lack of trust in whether these discussions will ultimately result in a formal agreement.
