Iran government spokesperson addresses economic pressure on families

Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani addressed the economic challenges facing families during a meeting with secretaries of the Population Youth Headquarters and provincial officials. She acknowledged that economic pressures have increased across all sectors of society and stated that the government is working to alleviate these difficulties.

Mohajerani emphasized the importance of maintaining family culture despite economic strain, warning that financial pressures could potentially alter traditional social habits. She noted that while the increase in female employment has changed lifestyles and needs, the government aims to provide facilities, such as the ‘Omid Mother Card’, to support families.

Regarding the broader economic context, Mohajerani described the current situation as a form of ‘economic warfare’ that has lasted for decades, escalating into a direct confrontation in recent years. She noted that the pace of economic change often exceeds the speed of government interventions.
