Iran Judiciary Chief Mohseni‑Ejlaei Bars Arbitrary Surveillance in All Times

Hojjat al‑Islam wa al‑Muslimin Mohseni‑Ejlaei, head of Iran’s judiciary, said that any arbitrary surveillance or illegal intrusion into citizens’ private lives is prohibited, whether in wartime or peace. Citing Article 25 of the Iranian Constitution, he stressed that the rule applies universally and that any exception requires a court order with strict limits.

He urged all officials and agencies to respect citizens’ rights, warning that misuse of investigative powers undermines public trust in the state. The judiciary reaffirmed its duty to safeguard personal privacy while acknowledging that limited, legally sanctioned searches may occur only under exceptional circumstances.
