Iran Konkur exam results show Sampad schools dominate top rankings

Results from the 1405 national university entrance exam (Konkur) highlight a significant disparity in academic achievement between different school types in Iran. While public schools accounted for 26 percent of the top rankings, the majority of top-tier students continue to come from Sampad (National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents) schools.

In the specific category of the top 15 students across all educational groups, Sampad schools held a dominant 66.66 percent share. Public schools represented only 6.6 percent of these top three positions, with similar shares held by exemplary public schools and private board-run schools.

Geographically, Tehran remains the dominant hub for academic excellence, securing 52.5 percent of the top 40 rankings for the third consecutive year. Mazandaran followed in second place with a 15 percent share, while Tabriz, Hamedan, and Yazd each contributed 5 percent to the top 40 list.

Many of the top-ranking students expressed intentions to pursue high-level studies at prestigious institutions, such as Computer Engineering at Sharif University of Technology or Medicine at the University of Tehran.
