Iran’s IRGC attacks US bases in Kuwait, Jordan with drones
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched a wave of unmanned‑aerial‑vehicle and missile strikes against U.S. military facilities in the Gulf region. The operation targeted the Camp Arifjan logistics centre and the Ali Al‑Salem air base in Kuwait, hitting ammunition depots, radar systems, a weapons‑maintenance hangar and communication bridges. Iranian forces also struck the U.S. Al‑Azraq base in Jordan, as well as U.S. assets in Bahrain, claiming to have destroyed fuel tanks and an ammunition depot.
In a separate statement, the IRGC warned any country that hosts U.S. forces to “prepare for a corresponding response.” The agency asserted that many American soldiers were killed in the attacks. The United States reported intercepting the incoming drones and missiles and continued aerial operations against Iranian targets, but neither the U.S. nor the host governments have independently confirmed casualties or damage.
The escalations follow a series of U.S. strikes on Iranian positions and include what Iran described as its first strike on a U.S. base near al‑Tanf in Syria. The confrontations have raised concerns of a broader regional war.
