Iran launches self-declaration process for 40 million citizens

Iran has launched a self-declaration process for approximately 40 million citizens to review household economic statuses. This initiative aims to update data to refine the list of eligible and ineligible recipients for various social support programs.

As part of this process, electronic coupon credits have already been increased for certain groups. Specifically, households under the coverage of support institutions, including approximately 11 million beneficiaries from the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation and the State Welfare Organization, saw their credits rise from 1 million to 1.5 million tomans.

Hassan Norouzi, head of the Subsidy Targeting Organization, addressed concerns regarding system errors and the consequences of failing to register information. He clarified that failing to complete the self-declaration does not automatically result in removal from the program and noted that the deadline may be extended if necessary. Eligible household heads are required to complete the process via the national smart government services portal.
