Iran marks Holy Defense Week with national commemorations

Iran has commenced observances for Holy Defense Week, marking the anniversary of the Iran-Iraq War. Various state officials, military leaders, and institutions have issued messages emphasizing themes of national unity, resistance, and the importance of the legacy of sacrifice.

In provinces such as Golestan, Hormozgan, Qeshm, and Kurdistan, commemorative events including exhibitions, cultural programs, and ceremonies to honor veterans and martyrs are being held. In Qeshm, the exhibition includes educational components such as first aid and weapon training demonstrations.

High-ranking officials, including the Minister of Interior and the Acting Minister of Defense, highlighted that the spirit of the Holy Defense continues through Iran’s modern military self-sufficiency and technological advancements. The Basij organization also released a statement noting that public support for the armed forces remains a cornerstone of national security and stability.
