Iran military officials stress proactive deterrence and strategic readiness

Iranian military officials have emphasized the importance of strategic defense capabilities and national unity following recent regional tensions. Yahya Safavi, a senior advisor to the Supreme Leader, stated on Defense Industry Day that the Ministry of Defense must focus on designing and producing “intelligent, dynamic, and comprehensive deterrence” to counter unconventional threats.

Safavi noted that the defense industry has reached a level of maturity where it can influence regional security equations. He stressed that the military must be equipped with advanced systems to ensure that Iran’s response to any threat is proactive rather than reactive.

Separately, Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia discussed the integration of the Al-Anbiya Headquarters with the General Staff, citing the need for increased agility against enemies. Akraminia highlighted that a major achievement of recent conflicts has been the strengthening of national unity and a heightened geopolitical awareness among Iranians regarding the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz.
