Iran military recovery surprises Israeli intelligence

Israeli officials and intelligence agencies, including Mossad, have expressed surprise at the rapid military recovery of Iran following US-Israeli strikes in early 2026. Despite previous claims by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) that Iran's defense industry had been set back by years due to thousands of strikes on missile and military targets, reports indicate a significant resurgence in domestic production.

Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naqdi of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that the production of ballistic missiles and UAVs is currently outpacing their deployment. If Iran maintains a production rate of 100 to 300 missiles per month, analysts suggest they could pose a major threat to Israel by 2028. This rapid rebuilding of underground launch sites and weapon stockpiles may influence future Israeli strategic decisions regarding potential further strikes.
